Christmas Carols / Hymns Sheet Music For Tin Whistle

Tin Whistle Sheet Music And Piano Keyboard Letter Notes For The Most Popular Christmas Songs Carols And Hymns. These Christmas / Christian songs are the one's that have been the most requested on the site each Christmas time. They are for those with a Christian faith. These songs should be played all year 'round, not just at Christmas time, I'm not talking about the likes of Rudolph the red nosed reindeer Or Santa songs. Be proud of your faith and don't be shy about expressing it through music.
Keep in mind that regardless of what key of tin whistle your using, you can still play all these songs. So for example, when your playing the finger hole notation in the sheet music on a C whistle then you'll be in the key of C, and if your playing a song with a Bb whistle then you'll be playing in Bb, and so on. More Christmas Carol Sheet Music Notes For Tin Whistle can be found here, with most of the tunes being fairly old and less well known than the one's here. Mano of the songs / carols have the piano / keyboard right hand notes you can play and are suited to beginners of all levels and ages, and can be used to play on your recorder or flute also. When I come across a song that's too complicated, I simplify the tune to get it to play as easy as possible and have now added the piano keyboard letter notes.

The observance of Christmas dates back to about 200 A.D. and it became the great popular festival of Western Europe during the Middle Ages. The singing of carols at Christmas time is a typically English custom. But the carol is not exclusively a Christmas song, nor is it in any way related to the hymn.
The carol was a French round dance which was accompanied by leader- chorus singing in the same manner as other familiar folk music presented in this book. It was most closely associated with the festive celebrations occasioned by the incidence of holy days. Despite the religious impulse and theme of the carols, they were essentially a carry-over of pagan practices and were associated with immorality in general.

From its origin in France, carol singing spread throughout all of Europe, and was well established by the time it became popular in England during the fifteenth century. The church opposed the practice for a long time. The carols spoke in the common language of the people, whereas the hymns of the church were austere and written in a foreign tongue. Ultimately, the carol, without dancing, worked its way into the good graces of the church, and soon carols were being written, both inside and outside the church, for ceremonial occasions.

The sixteenth century brought the Reformation, and the carol was swept out of the sanctuary along with everything else that smacked of "idolatry and superstition." It was then that the practice of singing carols on festive occasions from house to house in minstrel bands grew and flourished. "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" is probably more closely associated with this custom (particularly because of its text) than any other carol we sing at Christmas.
