Paddy The Show By Gerry Carney And Tommy Marren

From Gerry Carney. - hi friends, here is my BIG ANNOUNCEMENT. this is long winded, but please bare with me. as most of you probably know, I wrote the songPADDY [ Lyrics ]. thankfully, it's success has surpassed even my expectations, but I always had a bigger plan. let me say at this point, that the song is dedicated to those wonderful people who left our shores all those years ago, to provide for their families, and keep this country afloat. I felt that their valid efforts were only too soon forgotten. monitory gain was never my intention ( although many others picked up my slack on that)

A couple of years ago I approached Tommy Marren, playwright, and broadcaster with mwr fm, and I asked him to write a script based on the song (PADDY). thankfully he did just that, and what a script it is, honestly, the first time I read it, I shed a little tear. we then endeavored to put together Ireland's first ever musical drama. ( thanks Tommy for believing in my dream).

It has been a road with many turns, but at last I am delighted to announce that " PADDY THE SHOW" launches in Ireland this coming September. playing the lead role is the one and only, internationally acclaimed and multi award winning- Tommy Flemming who recorded classic Irish folk songs like The Isle Of Innisfree [ song lyrics ]. the music and songs are a collaboration between Tommy Fleming, Tommy Marren, and my good self. the songs are wonderful, and will be performed in the show by Tommy Fleming, Suzie Ryan and myself.

Tommy Marren is performing a full role, and I am playing the part of poor old Paddy. the show is produced by Tommy Marren, and we have a wonderful cast who believe in this as much as we do, and we are in full rehearsal. PADDY THE SHOW is probably the culmination of my life's work, dreams and ambitions, I wish to thank my son Ross Carney and my daughter Lorna Carney for stepping in during my times of doubt, and giving me their full and unconditional love and support. the show will be launched in Mayo for four nights, in mid September 2015, and will travel the country until Christmas.

Full details of venues etc. will be available shortly. the website will be live in the next couple of days. finally, I spoke to a lovely old Irish man in Cricklewood a few a weeks ago. we talked about his life. towards the end of our conversation he said, " men like me are long forgotten about", my answer to that is, NO SIR, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. thank you so very very much to all my friends and for your support, a support I am depending on as we go forward. god bless us all... Gerry Carney.
