The Fiddler Lyrics And Chords By Foster And Allen

Along with The Fiddler song which is traditional I have included a more recent one called We Owe It All To You. There's a similar titled song here that was covered by Irish funnyman Seamus Moore which is called The Fiddle song but a different story altogether.
[D]There was an old fiddler in the [G]days of yore
And he [A]lived in the town of [D]Ballymore
He was asked to play for the [G]king one day
But the [A]only tune that he could play
Was na na na noot-in na
chorus
[A]na na na noot-in na
Noot-in a noot-in a noot-in a day
[A7]na diddle noot-in a day

And when the king he heard this noise
He looked at hime in deep surprise
He said, guard take this man away
For the only tune that he can play is
Chorus

Well he was hung and sent to hell
And the devil said can you fiddle well
He said, the truth to you I'll say
The only tune that I can play is

The devil's ears began to swell
Said, there's no place for you in hell
So away with you now back to your king
You can take along your fiddle and thing with your

So all you people young and old
Who live in the town of Ballymore
If you're near the palace at the close of day
You may just hear the fiddle play.
We Owe It All To You Lyrics

In nineteen hundred and seventy five
The journey did begin
With songs about The Blacksmith
And The Rambles Of Spring
Later came THe Bunch Of Time
And made our dreams come true
When we toped the pops in England
Back in 1982.

Chorus
Forty years upon the stage
Of how the time has flown
With our good friends around us
We never walked alone
You've always been our guiding light
In everything we do
I'm Foster and I'm Allen
And we owe it all to you.

I will love you all my life
A song dear to our hearts
New Zealand and Australia called
When Maggie toped the charts
They loved our songs in Canada
And in the U.S.A.
South Africa holds memories
We cherish to this day.

We often wonder to ourselves
Just where the time has gone
But the Old Flame is still burning
And the show goes on and on
So we keep on playing the old squeeze box
And the songs you want to hear
And we're glad you hold us in you're hearts
After All These Years

Repeat chorus
