Medley Of Country Songs On Guitar

Here's a few old standard songs that most country singers and bands play. I have set them in the same strumming pattern and use only three chords. The key I'm using is C Major. I place the capo on the 5th fret and play the chord of G, which is really a C, when I play the chord shame of C I'm playing an F and when I use the D Chords I'm really playing a G. I play it this way because of the large number of guitar players who hate playing the F chord and this makes it much easier. The first song is Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain [ chords ]  which was a big hit for Willie Nelson, then I drift into another oldie called Singing The Blues, again the strumming doesn't change much even though it seems to have a faster pace. I just play the first verse of each song and include the chorus if the chords a different. Next up is My Best Friend followed by The Banks Of The Ohio chords which every country guitar player should know. I'm not sure if the next song ''It's A Heartache'' which was a hit for Bonnie Tyler is really a country song, perhaps it's pop but it seems to have the same strumming pattern so I threw it in anyway. The next one is another oldie by Dean Martin which started it's life as a country one but went into mainstream pop. The last is Take These Chains and then I drift back to the first song again to finish off. There's seven in total and they are all very well know, so these would be a good starter if your just getting into country music on guitar. You could even add a few more yourself, I'm sure there are hundreds more out there with the same easy strumming pattern, or just make up your own selection.
