Lullaby Lyrics By Phil Coulter and Bill Martin

Song by Aileach  on Emi records Arion LP.1976. This is a lovely sad song about trying to rear a young child in the troubled times in Ireland. It could be sung in so many other Countries under foreign rule today 2012 as well.
A Child speaks theese few words in his night Prayers. And God Bless my brothers & sistersMum & Dad & Me.And make me a good boy Amen, O God.
1

Go to sleep my little soldier
I've heard you say your Prayers
And I listened as you told him
Your troubles and your cares.
Dont you worry about the sorrow
You've seen in daddies eyes
Go to sleep until tomorrow
And I'll sing this Lullaby

(Chorus)
Hush Hush abye baby of mine
Hush and tomorrow will
All turn out fine.
2
First you told him of the soldiers
That you shout at
Every day
Saying please help me
Not to hate them
But I wish they'd go away,
Then you asked him to forgive them
Though you didn't quite know  why
Sleep in peace until tomorrow
And I'll sing this Lullaby.
(Chorus as above)
3
Then you prayed for all the people
Who'd been burned
Or who'd been shot down
Asking when will it be over
when will peace come to our town,
Sad'nd  I wish I knew the answers
Like I knew the reasons why
So sleep on until tomorrow
While I sing this Lullaby.
(Chorus as above)
4
Dream about a new tomorrow
When we finally count the cost
Of the words allready spoken
Of the lives allready lost,
When you pretend you live together
Though we dont see eye to eye
Dream about that new tomorrow
As I sing this Lullaby,
Chorus
Hush hush abye baby of mine
Hush cause tomorrow
The Sun always shines
Hush hush abye baby of mine
Hush and tomorrow will all
Turn out fine.
