Memory Lane
I read an article about the elderly in rest/retirement homes and one of the things they were worried about was getting Altzheimer's and forgetting what their loved ones looked like. This is a song about an old lonely man whose wife and friends have died and he is scared he will lose his memory and forget what his wife looked like.
Memory Lane Chords and Lyrics: Capo on 2
(D) as I (A7) stroll down memory (D) lane. (D7)
(G) I see your sweet face (D) again
And (A7) hear you (G) say I love (D) you,
And (A7) that you will always be (D) true (A7)
Now my (D) memory (A7) dims more each (D) day (D7)
Familiar (G) faces seem to fade (D) away
My (A7) hair once so black has turned (D) grey
And I (A7) sit home alone every (D) day (D7)
Chorus
(G) Memories, (D) memories they (A7) seem to comfort (D) me (D7)
Memories, (G) memories (D) I (A7) let my mind roam (D) free
(D7) (G) Back to the (Em) time (G) when you were (Em) mine
(G) When you were my (A7) loving (D) wife (A7)
I’m so (D) lonely (A7) by myself each (D) day (D7)
(G) Ever since God took you (D) away
I never (A7) meant to (G) live without (D) you
(A7) Now I’m all alone and so blue (D) (A7)
It is (D) hard to (A7) remember the things you’d (D) say (D7)
And I’m (G) scared your face soon will fade (D) away
I (A7) have you’re (G) photographs its (D) true
But when I (A7) can’t remember you what will I (D) do (D7)

Wild Geese
My Mother was Irish and I was raised on stories and tales of Ireland, one tale in particular stuck in my mind, the story of the Great Famine, my ,Mother said "the men and boys of Ireland left Ireland in droves never to return again, they flew away like the Wild Geese:
Wild Geese chords and lyrics: Capo on 2
(D) Like (G) wild geese of (A7) Ireland (D) the men leave our (Bm) shores
(G) To fight in foreign (Em) countries in (A7) their bloody wars
(D) Sons (A7) fathers (G) brothers and lovers too (D)
(G) they all leave (Em) Ireland but (A7) never return to (D) you

(G) Others sought (Em) freedom in (A7) lands across the sea
For (D) whatever (A7) reason (G) they went (D) away
(G) Once in their new (Em) country (A7) there they did (D) stay
Like (G) wild geese,(A7) wild geese the (D) men have flown away (Bm)

(D) If it (G) wasn’t ‘cos of (A7 )famine (D) then 'twas of war (Bm)
(G) That took all the (Em) men folk from (A7) Ireland’s green shores
(D) Now it’s (A7) only the (G) old men and women who (D) remain
And (G) life in dear old (Em) Ireland will (A7) never be the (D) same

IF GOD IS LOVE
I often heard people saying "Why does God allow this tragedy or that dissaster to happen" He is supposed to love and care for us?" This is my answer to that question.

and underground (D7) deep (G) below there’s a (A7) Hell where sinners (D) go.
If God is love then tell me (G) why, He lets (A7) young children and babies (D) die before they’ve (D7) had a (G) chance at life and (A7) why He allows so much (D) strife.
CHORUS
(D7) The (G) God I know lets us (D) choose to do (A7) as wish, win or (D) lose,
(D7) and if we (G) stumble and if (D) we fall, He’s always (A7) there to catch us (D) all.

With so much (D7) pain and (G) misery where blood flows (A7) freely on the (D) sand
If God is love then tell me (G) why, He lets (A7) vultures roam the (D) skies

IF GOD IS LOVE
I often heard people saying "Why does God allow this tragedy or that dissaster to happen" He is supposed to love and care for us?" This is my answer to that question.
If God Is Love: Chords and Lyrics
(D) If God is love then tell me (G) why, there’s a (A7) heaven high in the (D) sky
and underground (D7) deep (G) below there’s a (A7) Hell where sinners (D) go.
If God is love then tell me (G) why, He lets (A7) wars in (D) foreign lands
With so much (D7) pain and (G) misery where blood flows (A7) freely on the (D) sand
If God is love then tell me (G) why, He lets (A7) vultures roam the (D) skies
High (D7) above those (G) starving below they have no (A7) food or hope you (D) know.
CHORUS
God is (G) love this I (D) know, not ‘cos the (A7) Bible tells me (D) so
He has so much (D7) love for me and (G) you, He‘ll accept us (A7) all whatever we may (D) do
So if you (G) want Him as your (D) friend open your (A7) heart and invite Him in. (D7)
Silver Moon
I wrote this song as a tribute to all those brave men and women serving their country in war zones

G A7 D A7
Shining on the ones that I love,
D G D A7
Silver moon in the sky, shining bright in the night
G Em A D
Tell me how they’re sleeping tonight
G D
I’m away from home on some foreign shore
A7 D D7
Fighting the enemy in this dessert war
G D
And the only thing that’s keeping me sane
A7 G Em A D
Is the thought of seeing my loved ones again.
G D
I’m not scared of being shot
A7 D D7
But of not holding my son again
G D
And knowing that it’s me he will soon forget
A7 G Em A D
If I fall on these hot dessert sands
CHORUS
G D
We’ve only been married for a couple of years
A7 D D7
And my leaving well it brought on tears
G D
My son is young and so is she
A7 G Em A D
Without me how will their lives be
G D
She’s lonely and in fear of my being dead
A7 D D7
I know that she lives in constant dread
G D
Of the knock on the door and the Padre's call
A7 G Em A D
He’ll console her and tell of my fall
CHORUS
G D
So I go outside and look to the sky
A7 D D7
And I’m praying to God on high
G D
That he allows that beautiful silver moon
A7 G Em A D
To watch over me and not let me die
D D
For I have seen too much violence here
A7 D D7
Of pain and suffering I have caused my share
G D
Now I want to be back where I belong
A7 G D
Back with my family where the love is so strong
CHORUS
An Empty Bed.
I met an old friend in town one day and he told me that his wife had left him but he couldn't forget her 'cos her perfume lingered in his house and he still received her mail.
That inspired me to write this song.

From my (A7) eyes tears are pouring (D) down
Yesterday you (D7) finally (G) left me
